They are great for the price. Platinums are softer than the best balls but they play very well and they last above average. Very consistent too.

feel lighter and softer than most and print is very light which makes it more difficult to read spin.

These balls are really fast and have almost a perfect roundness every time. Very durable balls which is very useful as I hit a lot. Feels slightly lighter than Butterfly and softer than Nittaku. Speed wise they are pretty fast. What really sets them apart is that they are dirt cheap at 33c a ball. Got 36 balls for $12 at zeropong. Don't come in a box/carton but you can always buy a ball holder for $3-$4.

Great effieciency ball. Not the best quality on the market, but probably the best ball in that price range. Every one uses these balls for day to day practice at my club.

I like the Gambler Platinum balls. Low-cost and are pretty durable too. They play well, except they're not ITTF approved. jpingchow123 said this on December 12, 2009:
These are very cheap and in my opinion great for the price. The problems that I've faced with them is that the balls tend to differ from bag to bag. Sometimes there's a great nice solid ball and sometimes there's a soft squishy ball. These aren't very durable from my experience with them

I purchased the 36-pack, a bit skeptical about their claims. However, when they arrived I took them through a fairly intense smash/drive test for a couple weeks. Needless to say, they've been used and abused. They have been fantastic! Not an inconsistent ball in the 36-count package! They are a bit slower, probably because of a slightly more soft surface, and tough as nails. Strong spin doesn't make them wobble so they are very well balanced. The 9/10 overall is also due to the amazing value. I can use these as trainers and for serious matches.

I buy these balls all the time to practice with my coach and with my robot. When these balls are new, they feel heavy because of powder residue. It helps to wash them first. It's little bit annoying that you have to do that since I don't need to do that with other 3 star balls like Butterfly and DHS. I usually note about 10% of the balls are out-of-round. I would rate the durability less than average. Most of the balls are fine, but I'll occasionally get a ball that develops an internal crack after 1-2 sessions. The best thing about these balls are that they're cheap, about 33 cents/ball. I don't feel bad about stepping on one by mistake, which happens a lot when you practice with a robot. Very good quality balls . Good for practice and game . Much better than any other practice balls(Nittaku, Joola, Butterfly) for less price. alexuganski said this on November 28, 2012:
Very consistent balls with very good playing characteristics. However, for me, they broke incredibly quickly!
Well worth the money though! |
