I played Gergely side-by-side with Schlager Carbon for a week and preferred Gergely . . . a little more feel and not that much slower. Yet, I will boldly state that I preferred the Gergely-21 because of even great control, lighter weight, and more comfy handle . . . the compact head isn't for everyone.

Good blade for hitters and blockers - teriffic when when paired with Sriver 2.1. Lacks the subtle touch.

At first it feels heavy, but later on become lighter. Very hard, very stiff. Recommend softer rubber than Chermet for those who wants more control. Excellent in hitting and smashing, somewhat difficult for loop drives. Anonymous said this on January 11, 2010:
Fast and powerfull blade for attackers but the handle is not comfortable. mawenge said this on December 31, 2010:
I love it, everytime i try a different wood i need time to adapt, and lack the crisp feeling of placement i get with the gergerly. with the gergerly you aim and the ball goes, if i miss it has nothing to do with the wood or rubbers, its because the other played better. for me this blade has fantastic control, great speed , great on blocks , and on topspin, and even defense no problem, can chop and very easy for counterlooping. Tried several blades Grubba, Primorac , Timo boll , stiga blades , Dawei carbon pfff TTrocks!!! said this on February 25, 2011:
Very hard blade almost no flex at all....Used this on a roundell Hard Sponge and it'll ROCK YOU LIKE A HURRICANE!!!, for sure....BAD on LOOPS... unless you use a soft RUBBER.... recommended YASAKA X-TEND!....chops and high LOBS loses CONTROL with this blade.... BUT everything else rockssss!!!! powerlefty said this on October 10, 2011:
The worse handle I have ever played with. The PC and SC are better blades. I actually feel like the Sardius was an advanced, much improved version of this blade.

Madera rapidisima y pesada y cara.. Laminas exteriores Hinoki buenas .Madera muy salvaje agresiva ,rapida y dificil de controlar . mucha potencia en los drives , para picar y contratacar y bloqueos rapidos ,pero pesada - prefiero mas ligeras y con mas control.

Pair it with Nittaku Fast Arc S1 for my forehand and Yasaka xtend hs for backhand.
topspin- effortless with these stroke. less dwell time but with the fast arc which complimented the speed and stiffness of these blade the soft top rubber of fast arc did some wonder. short game- i give some thought on this area, hard to control but some practice i think it will sink in to your system. this blade definitely is for an advance and aggressive player. Offensive blade offensive plus. Before tried the blde with tO5 but seems to be wild on the block and push block but perfect with loop stroke. I guess some of the character diminishes to5 rubber was more than 9 months. Overall this blade is an asset and mine to keep. |
