Description of Butterfly Viscaria Light

More and more players are seeking lighter blades and the Viscaria Light fulfills that need while keeping the excellent speed, soft feel, and sweet touch that made the original model so popular.

The weight reduction is made possible by reducing the number of wood plies from five to three. However, by increasing the thickness of the outer Koto wood plies, we have been able to keep the blade speed close to the original.

The addition of Arylate/Carbon plies adds speed (minimal dissipation of energy), less vibration, and a larger sweet-spot.

Reviews of the Butterfly Viscaria Light

this blade have a good control than old Viscaria .. with good speed.. good for drivespin player not so far from table and suitable with a hard sponge rubber

I've played also TSP Black Blizzard and Dawei Wavestone, which are similar in construction. The Viscaria Light is the fastest and most controllable of the three (provided that you have a good footwork).

The combo with DHS H3 Neo is really good.

On the flipside, I have owned 4 Viscaria Light blades, and none of them was lighter than 88 grams (88, 88, 91 and 92 grams), so it does not seem to be as light as advertised - my original Viscaria is 93 grams :-)
Review Comelli said this on June 28, 2011:

The Butterfly Viscaria Light works great with hard rubbers with a tough sponge. its soft feel makes the blade bite if you have soft rubbers. I suggest you take that feel away because hitting the wood will variate the spin.

The good thing about this is the feel of ball coming off the ball, really nice. For a medium blade get this and move onto something fater when you get the correct stroke.
