Reviews of the DHS Hurricane H-LG

Review Halfmoon said this on December 30, 2009:

This Hurricane blade is awesome in power. It is very hard and stiff and the speed of this blade is unbelievable..... and it totally lack control.... so I think this might not be ideal for beginners who are still learning their strokes.

I paired up this up with the New Hurricane 2 Neo in the FH and Skyline 2 Neo in the backhand.

I find the workmanship on the DHS version slightly rougher than the Nittaku Hurricane LG. So I sand it smooth with sand paper.

The handle size is just right for me and not too small, and the feeling is hard. This is my first non-hinoki wood blade, and it is a different feeling compared to the softer feel.

With this blade, my game feel faster by 25-35% than when I was using the BF Jonyer blade due to the stiff and hard nature of the blade.

Because of the rubber (hard) I paired it up with, it is very good for pushing and drive, smashes, flicks, drop shot, push. However, it is not ideal for looping. It is very difficult to loop. It should fair better for looping for a softer rubber.

If you are interested to try out a fast all wooden 5 ply blade, you could shortlist this as the DHS Hurricane Series is seriously fast and crazy in power!

Lots of vibrations, had a real hard time finding a good match for this blade, not very good for close to the table work, works ok away from the table. Not suited for short pips, too much vibrations and flex. Again like other name brand products from DHS, not worth the money, can find many others much better price that out perform this blade. Cheap wood...
