Description of Xiom Aria
ESSENCE OF PURE POWER IN NEW 5 PLY WOOD CONSTRUCTION. BORN TO TOPSPIN. It was the common belief that 5 ply blade has a good control and feel but slower speed. ARIA breaks that myth without any doubt. While keeping the natural feel of 5 ply all wood blade, ARIA has the pure sense of aggressive power. Thicker but character-balanced veneer combination greatly enhanced all the expected speed measures. ARIA re-structured the energy efficiency and vibration performance from European classics. Each layer has a new balance with another to maximize the overall power capability. Such a powerful topspin from the far distance you can make with easier control. Construction aims at the match with softer OMEGA European series. It was the common belief that 5 ply blade has a good control and feel but slower speed. ARIA breaks that myth without any doubt. Very fast blade as all wood. Probably this in one of the fastest all-wood blades. But, as fast blade, it feels quite soft. If you have used slow blades such as Stiga Allround Classic, you may think that this blade is too fast. But, if your current blade is Butterfly Korbel class, Aria will give you the same control and the more power. In this case, you will be greatly satisfied. If you have used faster carbon blades, you will experience the same power and more feel/control. ebedsat said this on December 14, 2009:
Its a nice blade for offensive style (Top spin and drive).
The feels and control is about the same stiga tube carbo. Mine is set with Omega I and stiga Innova Ultra light. Saif said this on August 20, 2010:
When I switched to Aria from a composite blade I immediately noticed improved feeling and a slightly less speed which are great. The FL handle is so comfortable and overall balance is superb.
Currently paired it with TG skyline 3 neo and Vega Europe and I feel this is a good setup for 2 wing looping style. Xiom_Saiful said this on April 16, 2011:
I play this blade after many kind of composite in order to gain control in the fast and spiny game. It work very well on the bh with ternergy 64 max and tenergy 05 fx max on FH. Serve is very decent and returning serve is easy with and less error if we have slight misjudge. On the bh block is excellent, flip is easy, backspin return block is tremendous. On the FH , topspin is easy but not the best but loop and a little bit topspin is best and passive block from opponent is fatal mistake with if counter with hard smash or topspin. To stay topspin to topspin game always is convenient to play with. bmasterr said this on December 19, 2012:
This blade feels like Yasaka Malin Extra offensive which balance speed and control with the light blade(around 80-82 g).That suit for player who wants play allround, offensive(close to the table) or who want to get feel like Yasaka MEO with larger grip.

Coming from Butterfly Petr Korbel, Aria has more control, less weight (mine is 82 grams), softer feel and lower rebound angle. I think it's great for close to table topspin, block and drive, but lacks power from mid-distance. I've compared Korbel and Aria using Donic Barracuda 2.0 on both. Korbel has more power and maybe a little more spin, with a more direct and stiffer, woodier feel. However I hit the table more consistently with Aria and love the ST handle and low weight.
