Description of Galaxy Venus V-14

The Galaxy Venus V-14 blade is the 2010 replacement for the Galaxy K-4 blade. This means that the V-14 is a fast, smooth looping blade built in the same style as Japanese looping blades.

The V-14 did gain a little bit of weight in the transition (4g) and shed just a hair of speed, it is the controlled close to mid distance looping blade of the V series.

What is CarboKev?

Each layer of cloth is made up of two fibers, the vertical is Carbon Fiber while the horizontal is made of Kevlar fibers. This gives the sweet-spot of carbon, but less hard and harsh of a feel.

Looping feels so good with this blade! Much more feel than my previous 2 blades. You can feel the blade bend when you loop the ball. It gives me so much confidence to attack the ball because the blade offers amazing control. With my other setup I would be too afraid of making a mistake, allowing my opponents to take the offense.

So this is the new spirit clone for the k-4 ? I don,t know about that as I never played a spirit. But this is a good blade not just for the price. It,s especially suited for players who have a varied type of play. A good looping blade because it,s relatively thin, but not to flexible as the typical loopers blade. Spinny slow loop nevertheless works well and for me sharper then with more typical looping blades. Because it isn,t bouncy on low impact. Serve just the same. With appropriate rubber offcourse.
I had globe taiphoon gold on fh, a not too heavy, slightly tacky chinese rubber on a somewhat lively sponge. Bh ctt hero, a bit softer and between grippy and tacky. These rubbers worked well on this blade (at first try) because they allow me to play slow spinny loops as well as all the other strokes. Stability and precision/quickness for hitting, flicks and punchblocks. All out loops are real spinny, fast and powerfull. That,s when it shows to be a thinner loopers blade and more springy/flexible.
For shortgame also it behaves somewhat as chinese rubbers. It,s not too springy on slow impact strokes for such a thin blade. On slow spinny loops from the opponent I enjoyed the abillity to hit through the spin with hard counters or blocks. There it had more control then any five ply wooden blade.
With faster more springy rubbers I suppose it becomes a more offensive weapon and you need a tiptoe-technicque and also regular training to play a really varied/flexible game. For those who have a preference for a one dimensional type of game and no further idea about tabletennis whatsoever (no offense) there are better blades.

Nothing like a TBS in feel and throw. Far too soft for a good clone, hardly any feel at all. Only works with very hard rubbers. Throw is nothing like a TBS. This is too linear while the genuine TBS throw has a lot more arc. It also doesn't generate as much spin or power. Control is not excellent. Although I did find hitting to be quite good. Overall, looks likes a TBS but doesn't play like one at all. Not worth the money.

I do not agree with last comment.
It's a high value blade. Produces a lot of spin. It won't give heavy tops like some well known hard woods but quick and spinny tops with fast ESN rubbers or Tenergy family.
Also very controlable, even with long pimples (Grass DTec).
I really love this blade. Just gonna see if V16 is as good as this one...

This blade reminds me of a tbs regarding play and feel. I do not have a tbs but have had a hit with a friends one.
This blade can hit with that great crisp sound, even my wife could hear the difference. And I'm not talking about the sound of tacky rubbers.
Inexpensive and very good value. i will always have one of these blades as a gold standard reference point. Love it.

I feel terible for not trying this blade before I buy many blade just to find the right one for me this year. I fell in love the first time I hit with this blade. Paired with Vega Pro and Europe, you'll find this blade can serve you many style.

Speed and control is very balance, I can feel the ball on the blade without too much vibration. Finishing is also top notch, very professional.

My suggestion, try this blade before you looking for others. Superb!
