In normal drills, you and your training partner may play a ball continuously. In multi-ball drills, the coach feeds you balls, taken from a bucket, and ignores that ball after you\'ve hit it.
This allows the coach to focus on giving you the perfect ball each time. It is much harder for him to play a continuous rally and block the balls back perfectly.
