Short Pips (Pimples)

Short pips have a short length of pimples, and the result is that the effect of spin is reduced, but can still generate some spin. If a regular inverted rubber generates spin that is 100 out of 100, the short pips will generate between 15-50 out of 100.

So incoming spin has less effect, and less spin can be generated against the opponent.

This suits a flat hitting style of game. Most short pips players will stay close to the table and engage in quick hitting rallies, controlling the spin with the pips.
