VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds)

VOCs, or "volatile organic compounds", are chemicals believed to be harmful to people. Traditional glues (both speed glue and regular glues like rubber cement) contained VOCs and were banned by the ITTF. The ENEZ testing device is used to detect VOCs.

If you're using a racket glued with a banned substance, you should re-glue your rubbers with a water-based glue, or at least air out your racket for several days for the VOCs to dissipate.
