Description of Giant Dragon TopENERGY Soft
No need for speed glue. Speed glue used to help many table tennis players become the world champions, but for future players this is history. The new rules need new technologies and solutions. Giant Dragon's newly developed Durable Tension will be your choice. Durable Tension technology means that rubber undergoes special compression treatment for both durability and flexibility, using a special technique that fills and enlarges the pores of the sponge. The rubber surface undergoes special treatment. The high adhesiveness and high resistance produces strong spin. The research and development team has developed a special sponge, which has high elasticity and rebound effect. |

Let me start off by stating that I am now a reseller of Giant Dragon. I became a reseller at our club because I was looking for a tt company that had good products that didn't cost as much as the European/Japanese products. I liked the way Karate soft and Taichi played, but they were more moderately priced at $18 and good rubbers for beginner and intermediate players. TopENERGY is their high-end rubber for advanced players so I was very anxious to try it out. Just got some sheets a few days ago and gave them a try over the weekend. First off...the sponge is PURPLE for the black rubber! Have never seen a sponge like this before. The sponge is slightly tacky. The red sheet has an orange sponge. The sponge is a little rough like Tenergy and Baracuda but not as much. The rubber is also heavier like Tenergy and Baracuda. I put a sheet on a Donic Burn Off- blade, and a Giant Dragon OFF balsa/kevlar blade. The rubber is medium to medium hard, but plays a little softer. I found I was able to brush loop with the rubber, and loop drive as well with no problems. The rubber really has a high throw. The first couple of balls I pushed with it were very high. Couldn't believe how high the ball went when I pushed with it, but adjusted after a few minutes. I then gave this to my 9-year old son who is only about 1000, but takes lessons every week and has a loop more like a 1500+ player. He looped better with this rubber than any he has looped with to date. He has played with Baracuda 1.8mm, Sriver 2.0, Air Scirocco 2.0, and Vario BigSlam. His looping was immediately much more consistent as the rubber had better control/spin than the other mentioned rubbers. The rubber is on the heavy side like the Tenergy rubbers, so I would recommend putting this on a lighter blade. This rubber was also very good at looping underspin. This was a breeze! Have only played 1 time with this, but was very impressed. Recommend playing with this on a light, OFF- to Off blade. You won't be disappointed with this rubber.

i want a replace for my gambler outlaw, but it's not a replacement. short game was as good as with outlaw, with a bit mor spin blocks are faster than with outlaw but with less control topspins have mor spin than outlaw halfdistance: here comes the problem, zhe catapult effect which is very hihg at blocking is at least zero, so i have to put much power in the topspins from behind the table, so that they don't die during there flight. if you play close to the table it is a good rubber inall disciplines chop, spin and block, but if you come far away from the table you have to be strong and manage the medium to low throw angle Anonymous said this on March 16, 2011:
Great replacement for H3 provincial, IMO. Very spinny with Speed Glue Effects. Anonymous said this on October 19, 2011:
I have been using this rubber for well over a year now & its still as fast & spinny as when I bought it. Its primary asset is its ability to spin the ball at speed which is not easy with most tacky rubbers. I also find it good whether close to or away from the table, its just a case of opening the face of the racket when further away, producing heavy spins at speed from a defensive position. Control aspect is very good also, blocking and counter looping is remarkably easy when you consider the tackiness of the rubber. Being a tacky rubber it produces great spin services & touch play. All in all I think this rubber is the best tacky rubber - it is much easier to play with than the likes of Blue Whale 11 etc without forfeiting spin or speed. In fact I think this is the best rubber on the market & great value for money. nachalnik said this on October 23, 2012:
Fell apart after two hours. The top sheet completely unglued from the sponge. Bad product. As much as I love the LPs, the inverted I'll stay away from. Could have been a nice rubber, tacky, great spin, great control. Quality sucks!!!!!!!!!

Impressive packaging. Pretty purple sponge. Excellent forehand rubber. What more can one ask for?
