This rubber is great out of the package for up to a month and than dies and should be re-tuned. It produces great spin on loops and has very nice speed. It goes from i think 37-39 degrees of sponge hardness. It is pretty tacky but not as tacky as Hurricane. It feels like it has a better sponge though than Hurricane for sure. If you are used to chinese rubbers and want to find something that u can use legally in tournaments this factory tuned rubber is AWESOME!

This rubber was considered to be the new hurricane. It's a pretty good rubber with good speed, spin and control. It's not as tacky as Hurricane 3, but as a replacement speed glue rubber, this is very good. My only complaint is that it does not last that long. After one month, the rubber died. For one month, it is not worth the money.

reasonably good spin..fastest chinese rubber out there..and feels nice in general..
the qc is really bad.. and I had totally different rubbers from the same batch of prov versions.
lasts only a month.
feeling changes rapidly with time...varies almost on a day to day basis..
but when you're playing on the second week..it plays like dream
you have to hit a little when you loop..kinda like grippy jap rubber..to get the full speed
easy to loop bottom spin..and I could go against a guy's tenergy in counterloop with it on a fast blade..
topsheet may wear out a bit..but the sponge usually goes dead in a month

Not only goes dead after a month but also tears apart. Rubber chips start peeling off and when I tried to take it off to replace it, it got torn into two just like paper !!! Never seen anything like it before!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, review for bunch of BW2 rubbers @ different hardness and sponges.

Recently I bought BW1 and was very impressed with price and performance of the rubber so I decided to buy a bunch of BW2 to check out how it plays and if there is much of improvement over BW1.

I got old pack (black vacuum bag), new pack (blue vacuum bag), 4 training versions (tunes and non-tuned), and new pack with pink sponge.

When it comes to the color of sponge BW2 puts rainbow to shame. It comes in yellow, black, pink¦ you name it color, tuned and non-tuned.

This review will not be typical (speed, spin, bla bla¦) because I cant tell the difference from BW1. It has the same top sheet and the sponge feels the same. Maybe there is a difference but sure as hell I cant tell. I cant even tell the difference from tuned vs non-tuned rubbers they all feel exactly the same to me. I mean there are some differences but I think that is my mind playing tricks on me. All the rubbers I got were 39-41 hardness scale. That did not make much of a difference either. Sure 39 is tad softer but can be easily ignored.

Training rubbers were great. With some minor (mainly cosmetic) issues on the top sheet they played the same to the regular retail pack.

On the positive side (if you like softer feel) the softest one is the pink sponge. I am not sure if in fact that is the softest sponge but feels that way to me.

For detailed review you can take a look at the review I did on BW1 (it would be the same for this rubber).

Recommendation:

If you like physical rubbers this Whale 1 and 2 are outstanding. My advice would be to get the cheapest one you can find online, but feel free to try them all like I did and I hope you may find more differences between them then I found.

Enjoy TT and life ï.
