Description of LKT Pro XP
- Next generation of rubber formulation - Superior mechanical grip - Thin top sheet with unique rubber pip structure - Fitted for mid distance loop and counter drive attack Pro XP is a great choice for players who want the ability to perform effectively off the table. This is difference from classic Chinese rubber. The top sheet is supple and very thin. PRO XP has an extremely elastic under pip structure that will allow the rubber ample time to load spin prior to release. |

I've only tried this without speed glue, and it's pretty slow. The sponge is butter soft (the softest I've seen) but is very light. The topsheet is very soft as well. I've tried this topsheet on harder sponges and it feels much better. This might be pretty good with speed glue though.

Tried this rubber without speed glue or tuning. It was too slow on backhand looping, but had ok speed and good control on drives. Sponge was way too soft for looping would bottom out even on moderate speed strokes.

Very soft sponge for a tacky chinese rubber. My black one was amazingly tacky out of the packet, but it calmed down after a few sessions.
Not outrageously quick, but great feel and when combined with a fast blade becomes very useful on both wings. With the super soft sponge I felt that this was a reasonable alternative to far more expensive euro/jap rubbers, but lacks a bit of pace when compared to a standard sriver for example. Has been superceeded a bit with the introduction of the LTK Rapid series, but I still love the XP! Timberwolf said this on March 19, 2009:
I used this on my backhand and cause of its soft sponge, the touch feels good, nice for control and placing the ball on specific places, the ball goes where you want it, so (without being presumptuous) that I almost won 1 set by pure collocation of the ball and those frustrating balls that pinch the edge of the table. Good for control but a little slow.

I have a 2.2mm version of this rubber and it is great for looping. I don't know what everyone else is talking about but we got this rubber for free from our tabletennis club used and it has lasted a LONG time. I think it is one of the best rubbers out there.

........................................... This is very soft & easy rubber with sticky surface, and also very slow. When I bought it I, suprised me it's control and spins on the table. During time tackiness decrease-which is normal for 8-euros chinese rubber. I recomend it to players who like playing nearby table and which points are lost when ball goes for about 10cm over the table. //////////////////////////// Pozdrav svima=Bye dl said this on March 4, 2010:
This rubber lacks power. I have this on one of the fastest blades - Boll Tri-Carbon and I have to really exert to drive. Definitely not one for close-to-table attack game. On the other hand, control is really good. santiago said this on November 3, 2010:
This rubber is very fast and the best is very light, has a lot of effect fibula is sticky, ideal for players who want a fast and lightweight rubber Feodor said this on April 11, 2011:
on my TSP Newspin this rubber plays well in looping game, easy to open rallies, very good feeling when blocking, however defensive strokes are hard to create. It gives time to spin the ball, and then explode its power. With it I could master topspin very short balls or flat flip. Calvin Lam said this on May 25, 2011:
It is very light and good for the player like hitting instead of looping the ball. Anonymous said this on September 7, 2011:
I don't understand why this is rated 7.2 tackiness ~~....... (i think some people have got the pro XT and XP mixed up) Pro XP does not have a tacky topsheet its a grippy topsheet. Its a slow rubber no doubt about it but its great for people who want to develop good technique. Its Spinny and has amazing control seguso said this on November 2, 2011:
This is a great backhand rubber for carbon blades. soft, low throw, spin insensitive. Red is considerably different from black.
In detail: hardness: soft topsheet and sponge. This makes opening loops very easy, and gives you a low gear with a very short arc when brushing lightly. it also makes the rubber slow unless used on a carbon blade. Unfortunately, black sheets are much softer than red sheets. 34 deg vs 36 deg. As a result, black has much more control close to table, and is a bit slower than red. Red sheets have much less of a low gear. Throw: low, a bit higher than sriver el. Throw in red sheets is considerably lower than black. Your opening loops will be very difficult to attack for this reason, even if you don't risk them, because they will stay low. tackyness: the topsheet is almost non-tacky, which makes the rubber insensitive to incoming spin, and therefore easy to respond to service and to block. However, opening loops are surprisingly very spinny (almost like with tacky rubbers). gears: only low gear. That's why you need a carbon blade to provide the high gear. Spin: spin in XP is considerably more than LKT rapid soft red. (this is true for both red and black XP). suggested blade: OFF+. dawei wavestone, galaxy t4. Rey Tagum said this on November 14, 2011:
very light and soft rubber. very good if used in hard and stiff (carbon) blades. i tried it on my butterfly primorac carbon and donic impuls. Anonymous said this on December 20, 2011:
it's not bad for this price but pretty slow. need to use with fast blade Hozze said this on September 15, 2012:
I'm using it on FH, 2.2 mm black. Tried this on a bit of a whim, my wrist has been acting up and I wanted to try a very light rubber to reduce the strain a bit.
It's slower than the Haifu Whale II (red sponge) I'm used to playing, lacking that top gear. But the increased control, especially close to the table, makes up for it. I play a very fast blade as well which compensates. Spin is excellent, grippy topsheet with some tack as well. Soft sponge but I still don't get the feeling that it bottoms out much. If you loop more than drive you won't have a problem with it. Medium throw and very light as advertised. In short I'm very positively surprised, if you're looking for feel, control and spin this might be just what you need. Very cheap as well. Pipsy said this on October 5, 2012:
Combination of mechanical grip and tackiness. Black sheets seem to be a bit tackier than red sheets. Medium-tacky rubber that also performs very well off the table. Speed is ok, but it isn't the fastest. You have to make a full looping movement to be consistent. Control is amazing when blocking. Super light. Great rubber when you like soft sponge

I was looking for a replacement rubber for my 9 year old nephew. Despite his young age, many are impressed with his skill set. He's a loop attacker and he has defeated players older and more experienced than him. Yasaka Mark V served him well the past two tournaments allowing him to place high in the standings. The Mark V he used was bought pre-owned and time came I had to replace it. I initially used LKT Sound but found it to be too fast on a Huaruite Redwood Carbon blade. Then I came across an LKT Pro XP at a local sports shop and thought about reading reviews about it.
Seguso's review, that the ball tends to have a short arc when looped, convinced me to buy the Pro XP. In short, I and my nephew are amazed. His shots became more consistent, spins where more powerful and he can easily loop underspin. We placed this on a Galaxy CN1 Children's Carbon blade (an ALL, ALL + blade) and the combination fits well to my nephew's style of play. Haven't tried it though on the faster Huaruite blade. I'm sure the results would be different. To more seasoned players, this rubber would appear to be slow and you need to pair this with a fast carbon blade to get some decent speed. But if you are looking for something that will allow you to put the ball into the table more consistently, then this could be rubber for you. Also, I think you can use this as your backhand rubber especially if you love looping on that side of the table. JOW said this on December 6, 2012:
Behaves more or less like the pro XT, main difference is tackiness, XP is less tacky then XT. However the tackiness on the XT wears off very fast so they feel about the same.

just the right combo of mechanical grip and tackiness for me. slow but slapped it on gergely, have some kick in it now.opening loops easy, super control.i have 2.0 bh/fh, can place ball where i want to.been six months since i put it on, still ok.

Feels very much like an economical version of a traditional Japanese rubber. So, it is a good all-round rubber. Feels soft with good sensation, is forgiving ie easy to use, has a little 'pop', can do all shots. Recieving serve is not too difficult because the top-sheet is grippy but not tacky. When I first started training, I used this on an OFF- all wood 5 ply.
