Reviews of the Palio Hadou Whirlwind

Review Phot0n said this on October 3, 2010:

I purchased this rubber as Hadou Hurricane from fastpaddle.com for $9. I believe it is the same thing as Whirlwind (same packaging, etc) so someone can correct me if they are indeed two different rubbers.

This is an attacking rubber with a hard sponge. The rubber itself is thick without being too heavy. It's a pain to cut but like most Palio rubbers, it holds up very well and will last a long time. It has a surprising amount of control and no matter how hard you hit the ball, it will not let you down. It's consistency is very dependable. I suggest using a razor for cutting and not scissors.

Like most Chinese rubbers, it starts off ultra tacky and after a good month of use it will reduce down to a very desirable tacky+grippy level. It's my forehand rubber and it produces some mean backspin serves.

As far as unglued, non-tensioned rubbers go, this is actually a decently fast rubber. Which brings me to my next point, this rubber is meant to be speed-glued. The dense sponge expands very well and can be re-glued many times. Then this rubber shines providing incredible speed/spin while still providing excellent control. The speed-effect will hold for a very long time. This is definitely one of my most notable rubbers when speed-glued.

Overall, I give it 9/10 because it's an excellent, durable, high-quality rubber, especially given its price. I wish it would have been slightly faster without glue for those that need to stick to the rules.
