Description of Stiga Optimum MP

Optimum MP combines STIGA's two highest-tech technologies: MP and Nano Composite. The MP top sheet is a mixture of 50% natural rubber and 50% synthetic rubber that produces a sheet with more tension and enhanced spin. The MP (Molecule Power) system greatly increases the energy release of the rubber when you strike the ball. STIGA has paired this high-performance top sheet with a fantastic medium sponge that incorporates STIGA's Nano Composite technology. Nano Composite technology embodies a new mixing technique that creates 50-100 nanometer sized grains. These extremely small grains produce stronger and tighter bonds to produce greater dynamic effect. And, the Nano Composite sponge plays great with either regular glue or speed glue.

Wonderfull rubber on a flexible off blade. I use it on bh of hurricane hao in 1,8. 1,8 because of control in pushes servereturn etc. On flexible blade the dwell 1,8 gives is enough for all offplay allthough I could have choosen the 2,0 version also as the control in pushes is almost like a chinese rubber which is good.
The nano particles in the sponge seem to make the sponge more stable and firm while it still feels soft for opening loops. After one time of play I am pleasantly supprised. Not a real glue effect but plays very well without glue.

This rubber feels very much like Bryce... I like it for forehand.

A driver's rubber. Fast, average spin, average control, lacks gears. Works as a power-looper's forehand rubber too. If your game relies on spin and precision, forget it. This rubber is for finishing points quickly with rocket drives. REALLY responsive to tuning. I've tuned quite a number of rubbers and this one is by far the bounciest, but I'm afraid uncontrollably so from close distance. Don't go for the max unless you know what you're doing. Overall does what it excels at really well, a 'B' rubber for niche styles. Not as useful and well-rounded as the classic Magna or the new Boost series but still a good value if you can buy for cheap!

Yes. Great spin great speed, im using this rubber for backhand on a XIOM Michelangelo blade. This rubber suits players who can control very well because this part tends to be this rubber's weakness. Topspin and flicking would give quite a low throw, but pushing with this rubber does not give much spin at all and returns a push with a high ball if not controlled well. Returning a heavy chop ball would be good on this rubber.

I bought it not so long ago and i like it, so far I'm very pleased :))
Very similar like Bryce, but so cheap!! Good for easy and fast finishing points! If you are attacker you will like it for shure.

I really like it (max ) in my Forehand ; Lots of control and great spin in drives, loops and power-loops close to the table. Speed for smashes is good. Not like the new speed-glue inside rubbers though...

I'm in my mid-30's and have just taken up the sport again after not playing since my teens. I have this on both FH and BH on a Banda Gemini (Off -) penhold blade, max thickness. Picked up this combo as a package deal for half-price, not really knowing what would work after such a long time away.

Having played with it for a few months I've come to the conclusion that I prefer it as a forehand rubber. It's plenty fast with good spin, although I struggle somewhat with control on the backhand. More likely due to me than the rubber though, I probably should have started off with something softer, especially as RPB takes some time getting used to.

I'd say it's better for driving, but looping isn't bad either long as you really go for the shots, especially if you've backed off the table. Medium throw, average weight. Not sure about durability just yet, but i've noticed no change in performance during 2 months heavy use, other then that it seems to "chip" easily at the edges.

I've now also picked up a Stiga Hybrid Wood blade with DHS/Xiom rubbers, so I'll probably update this review when I've done enough testing for a proper comparison.

very Fast rubber but poor at spin, and very poor at control.
