Description of Tibhar Aurus

The rubber for the ambitioned player striving to play topspin strokes in any situation. The new technology combined with the ultra soft rubber surface provides an outstanding spin and a great playing sensation, allowing a secured and aggressive game. The integrated SPI (Speedglue-Effect-Inside) technology confers an extreme catapult reaction to the ball. Although you will use very little strength, your balls will be loaded with a lot of spin and speed. The exclusive rubber surface confers stability and a long-life expectancy. Notice the energy of this rubber after only few exchanges.

This rubber is great for playing close to the table. Playing from Mid distance did not work very well at all. VERY spiny serves was the first thing I noticed when i started using this.
I think I will stick with my Xiom Sigma Europe.
The rubber is a bit slow for my liking...

i ended choosing aurus as my replacement for donic desto f2 for my backhand. it is faster - even as a 1.9 - and spinnier. I also find it superior in control, spin and speed to rapid.d.tecs 2.0 i have in my forehand - lighter as well in 1.9. great sound, even in the normal version - great feel, with more than enough precision for serves, smashes and spin shots. i find it's a great, exciting rubber and not as expensive as other new generation rubbers.

Perfect for an OFF or OFF- player!
I use it in combination with an Andro Temper Tech OFF- blade, 2.1mm, for my forehand and it is absolutely perfect!

Amazing rubber! Value for your money...forget about T05...my favorites lethal weapon, outstanding for smash, drive and loop...great and excellent rubber!
Review seguso said this on April 9, 2013:

this is a great forehand rubber: medium-high throw, medium-hard, fast, spinny in loops, and not very spin sensitive in block.

spin in powerloops is great. spin on brush loops and pushes is average.

the throw is medium-high or high: higher than genius (and of course much higher than sinus). lower than vega pro, higher than m1, a bit higher than m2, similar to t05 hard version. higher than S2.

Block on bh is fair due to spin insensitivity but not great due to the high throw. m2 blocks better because it is softer. s2 blocks worse. m1 blocks much worse.

spin sensitivity is low, therefore control is good.

The speed is very good. faster than tenergy 05, xiom sigma europe. but slower than m2, m1, s2.

hardness is like t05, i.e. medium-hard.
harder than m2, but much softer than m1. The medium-hard hardness is the reason why spin is very good in power loops.

red rubber is less grippy than black.

warning: some say the red color plays bad with humidity.

topsheet has a click feeling somewhat like t05. for this reason, like T05, this rubber works best on stiff blades, like clippe.

bottom line: this is one of the few fast rubbers with medium-high throw. For this reasons, it is one of the best choices for forehand. Use it if T05 is too slow for you, but you still like high throw. Another option to consider is M2, which is a bit softer and a bit faster.
