Very hard Sponge, very good for blocking, top spins and chops.
If you look for precision, this is the rubber you need. Top spins have a low throw angle and are fast. Blocks are no problem because of the throw angle Mazarley said this on September 15, 2009:
Great rubber from Xiom. Generates heavy spin, is good for blocking(very consistant) and flat hitting. Serves are fairly spinny(like shriver) and net play/shot game is excellent. It probably plays a little slower than Sriver glued up but is just as spinny. On the down side, as with all the tension rubbers or speed glue effect rubbers, the price is a bit much. All in all a quality rubber. Anonymous said this on March 28, 2010:
Great rubber!!!! I have a Xiom OIII on my Sardius and the combination turns out to be amazing: a fast blade with a soft and precise rubber! If you are an aggressive attacker with forehand, this may not be ideal, because of the time the ball stick with the rubber is relatively long. If you decide to use it as a backhand, hitting and blocking is very good (topspin may require some extra force). The lifespan of the rubber is also very long. I am an active player and I have been using it for 6 months, with negligible degrading. The only problem with this rubber is that it is extremely difficult to remove the glue since the backside is so soft. Do it with a pingpong ball, not your finger, please! Only reglue when it nearly falls off the blade, because a thick layer of glue may result in poor performance and shorter lifespan. A wise choice! smasher said this on July 23, 2012:
I am a hard hit playing style even close or mid range to the table. This one is my favorite FH rubber sheet
Both rubber surface and selected sponge are completely tuned and perfectly functioning, providing a fast bullet velocity while the underneath sponge also engineer a perfect control, all I can feel when playing with Asia-OMGIII. Smashing and spinning from the distance are also well performed, but sometimes players may get acquaintance with optimal swing and stroke required at the first place. I love this one and it's my extreme. |
