Description of Yasaka Mark V HPS

Mark V HPS

The result of a completely new formula for the sponge combined with the top sheet of MARK V:

MARK V HPS is a "top of the range" fast table tennis rubber and gives you all the characteristics required for advanced offensive play.

MARK V HPS is the result of the newest Japanese rubber technology.

The HPS technology gives:
- improved dynamics in the sponge
- more speed and spin, without higher weight

Mark V HPS is a medium hard sponge, suitable for aggressive play close to the table.

Reviews of the Yasaka Mark V HPS

Review bsalter5 said this on May 19, 2010:

This actually plays something like lighltly glued Mark V, which is pretty good. It isn't as fast as Tenergy or a few others, but is fast. It isn't sa spinny as some either, but has plenty, and a nice balance of spin and speed. Very versatile. While it won't make you a hero on its own, it will allow you to do anything you are capable of...

It is very universal rubber, low throw, which suits my backhand very much. Compared to tensor rubbers, it is very linear regarding speed and power used.

Nice for FH or BH, for all attack use it in Maximum sponge, for better offensive control use in 2.0mm. Every shoot easy with it, pretty speed and spin!

This is the replacement rubbers for my classic mark V. With Water glued based, i feel the same with play with mark V with speed glue. Fantastic! Even its better. Thanx Yasaka!

Good in serve, loop, block, push, drive and surely smash also topspin. Chop and short game must be with good control and soft touch.
Review Reinhardman said this on April 21, 2012:

Very good rubbers, its has everything I want to play...with the nice relative medium price i think..but the equal quality with the expensive rubbers such xiom sigma euro.

The modern all new MarkV i thinkin of, because its feel you are playing MarkV with speed glue. Nice!!!

Nice package with hard cardboard and top protector sheet.Initial Impression. small pores evident a bit shiny top sheet. The color of its sponge is milky white. Once apply by water base glue it immediately absorb by its sponge.
Playing Characteristics: Great rubber for its high control spin and decent speed , since the top sheet rubber was still Marv V the playability and character is just the same only its faster. Perfect for Off + blade.
My set up; blade Photino. Forehand rubber is Mark V HPS back hand Sapphira. Great quality rubber. Mine is 4 months old and still okay. Just bought another one for reserve. a Must try Japanese rubber.
Review topAttack said this on April 19, 2013:

I played with this rubber on bh for 6 months, it is a nice rubber but far from the good tensors out there. It is decent in looping spin, blocks, decent in control and with a comfortable medium throw. But it doesn't shine in none of them not compared with the other tensors : acuda S2, xiom sigma europe etc. It's just a rubber for transitioning to the real tensors out there. The big minus is the serving and pushing area. Spin is terrible on serves and pushes tend to pop-up both because the top-sheet is thin and the firmer sponge kicks in even on brush shots. All in all a training rubber not a serious competition rubber.
