Review of Butterfly GergelyI played Gergely side-by-side with Schlager Carbon for a week and preferred Gergely . . . a little more feel and not that much slower. Yet, I will boldly state that I preferred the Gergely-21 because of even great control, lighter weight, and more comfy handle . . . the compact head isn't for everyone.

Review of Butterfly Schlager CarbonFast, but heavy. Quality is topnotch. The handle is lovely and you'll hit bullets, and if you put the right rubber on this beast you might even hit them on the table. Overall, it's a nice blade to have in the collection.

Review of Butterfly Joo Se HyukI know this is a defensive chopping blade, but I couldn't get over the fact that it felt dead. I should mention I'm a blocker, not a chopper. The weight wasn't too bad compared to the MPS and it's nice and thin, but . . . it's not for everyone!

Review of Butterfly VSG-2000The blade felt nice in my hand and hit well; however, I couldn't get over the cartoon look and the silly rubberband that goes through the handle for some "shock absorbing," much like the Nittaku Shellshock, which is also a comedic blade with no resale value.

Review of Dawei Wavestone WRBFor the price, the Wavestone is hard to beat. It's a high quality woodie w/carbon with nice speed and good control. It's a bit on the stiff side, but has some feel. I overseal it and enjoy the extra stiffness, which suits me and many other players.

Dawei Kama
|
Review of Dawei KamaYou can't beat this blade for value. It's cheap, and if you do a little fine sanding and sealing it won't feel or play cheap. It sure beats most pre-mades and anything you'll find at Sports Mart or Big 5.

Galaxy W-6

Review of Galaxy W-6If this is the blade that's compared to the Yasaka Extra . . . I had it, tried it, and found it better than the YE. It felt great in my hand and if I stayed with cpen I'd stay with the W6.

Review of JOOLA MC1This has been my favorite blade for most of the past year. It's fast, very light, and has surprisingly good control despite reviews to the contrary. It feels very nice in the hand with ST and FL. You just can't beat if for weight/speed/control-feel. The only drawback could be the thickness, but if you use a standard shakehand grip it shouldn't be a factor. Thumbs up!!! BTW . . . for $75 it's a great deal, but for $40 it's amazing!!!
