I live in central Texas, the Austin area. In the summer of 2011, I landed a job at a resort that offers a ton of downtime and a game room with a ping pong table. Nice. I started out hitting against the folded up half of the table and learned the basics of spin and the general strokes. I moved on to live opponents - guests that were looking for a quick match. It didn't take long for me to become enamored by the world of table tennis, at which point I ate up all that YouTube and the internet had to offer. This year, I got my long-time childhood friend a job here, and found what you could technically call a 'professional table tennis partner' - seeing as how we are both getting paid to play ping pong. I now play almost daily and take time to hit at the local club (Austin Table Tennis Association) at least once a week.

Favorite player is Liu Guoliang. Big supporter of Chinese dominance of the sport, which makes it even better when non-Chinese players make a great showing!
